Introduction of  Dr. Kamakshi Karri, organizer of Tyagaraja Festivals

This is the 6^th Consecutive year we have been organising Tyagaraja aradhana at Birmingham Balaji temple. I am Gynecologist by profession, Learnt veena and vocal from Smt. Y.Sreedevi and late Sri Pappu Chandrasekhar garu in Hyderabad. With the passion for carnatic Music, I have taken lot of interest in getting the aradhana organised every year.

Birmingham being in midlands, we get participant throughout  the united kingdom, from London, reading, Miltonkeyenes, Bristol, Oxford, Nottingham,Leicester, Manchester, Liverpool as well as from Birmingham. Many participants in the afternoon session are those who learnt carnatic music in India from renouned teachers and have settled in different professions but still have tried to keep up their musical knowledge and skills by regular practice and also  by teaching students.

This show is going to be mixed English and Telugu.  There are many Telugu youngsters living in Europe who never learned how to speak Telugu.  They shy away from speaking Telugu.  Our aim is to encourage them to participate in community shows.  We would like them to feel home in Telugu community.  We encourage them to speak in English using small little Telugu words.

Radha Rayasam was born in Bangalore, India. She is a food blogger and has made cooking tutorials on You Tube. She works as a teacher and coaches children up to first year college in Math, Reading, and Science. Radha is pursuing her education in Science. She is a busy mom of two children. She currently lives in San Antonio, TX, USA with her husband Bhaskar. Radha is proud to host “Rangoli with Radha” on TeluguVani Radio.
